Aiguobasinmwin Movement Warns Asari Dokubo Against ‘Attacks’ on Edo, Benin Throne The President of Aiguobasinmwin Movement Worldwide, Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture, has warned former Niger Delta militant leader, Asari Dokubo, to steer clear of Edo State and desist from what he described as provocative comments about the Edo people, their heritage and the revered Benin throne. Iyamu, who spoke at a press conference in Benin City, said the peaceful disposition of the Edo people should not be mistaken for weakness or cowardice. Stakeholders in Edo State, Tuesday, September 29 2026, appealed to the state government and relevant agencies including security agencies to as a matter of urgent importance imposed stiffer penalty against those producing and selling counterfeit and adulterated products in the state, arguing their actions amount to criminal prosecutions. They made the appeal during Town Hall/ Stakeholders'  meeting with the theme "Eradicating Counterfeit/Adulterated Products, Enforcing Consumer Right, Promoting Standards and Practising Fair and Responsible Trading in Edo State" organised by the Edo State Consumer Protection Committee. Edo Special Court To Deliver First Verdict in Kidnapping Case on September 29 The Edo State Special Criminal Court sitting in Benin City will on September 29 deliver its first judgment in the kidnapping case arising from the abduction of a woman at the Vegetable Market along Airport Road, Benin City. Recall that in June 14 this year, gunmen using an SUV, abducted the woman in broad daylight at the market, triggering a police investigation that led to the arrest of several suspects. The Special Criminal Court was established in July 2026 following a directive by Governor Monday Okpebholo that the Judiciary accelerate the trial of kidnapping and cultism cases, pledging that convicted kidnappers would face capital punishment. The E do State chapter of “RELAX Tinubu is Fixing Nigeria”, an advocacy group supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced plans to intensify grassroots mobilisation across the 774 local government areas in Nigeria ahead of the 2027 presidential election. The state coordinator of the group, Hon. Patrick Idiake, said RELAX would focus on taking information about the Tinubu administration’s policies and programmes to communities across the country, particularly at the grassroots.
