A Socio Cultural group, the Coalition Of Edo Youth , CEY, has called on the All Progressive Congress,APC, the Edo State governor, Senator Monday OKpebholo to reward hard work by giving the APC ticket for Oredo Federal House of Representatives to Hon. Osaro Obazee. The group in a statement signed by Mrs. Tunde Elizabeth, Coordinator General, ELIZ UNITED FORUM and nine others said, “Osaro Obazee is a loyal foundation member of the party and a true son of the red soil who consistently promotes our rich culture, traditions, and heritage. The group opined that Oredo needs a representative who understands our identity and will defend its interest in the national assembly. “We, the undersigned leaders of independent groups, conscientiously came together for a common cause. The claim that UNIBEN has been surrendered to cultists is inaccurate.  Before the ungodly incident took place yesterday at the main gate, the management of the University of Benin had already put machinery in place to overhaul the university’s security architecture.  While we condemn the barbaric killing at the front of UNIBEN main gate, the exact cause is not yet fully ascertained. Gov Okpebholo Bags NECO Excellence Award Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has bagged the National Examinations Council (NECO) Award of Excellence following Edo State’s emergence as the state with the third highest percentage of candidates who obtained five credits and above in the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal examinations since the council’s inception. NECO, Nigeria’s national examination body was set up in April 1999. Currently headed by Registrar and Chief Executive, Prof Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, it is responsible for conducting the annual SSCE. The demolition attracted a large crowd of residents who commended the state government, describing the action as a decisive step in the fight against criminality in the area.
