Suspected Cultists Attack  Odionwere, Elders, Okaighele In Obazuwa Community  Not less than twenty suspected cultists led by the former Okaighele, Odaro Peace Ibizugbe, of Obazuwa Community in the Ovia North-East local government area of Edo State,off the upper  Ekenwan road,  weekend  attacked the Odionwere, elders and the present Okaighele of the community. Odaro and his group of boys were said to have invaded the community with guns, battle axes and different weapons. Edo State High Court Cancels Restriction Of Movement On Environmental Day

The Edo State High Court has declared unlawful the restriction of human and vehicular movement during the state’s environmental sanitation exercise, in a landmark judgment delivered on Thursday. Justice Isoken Urhomwen Erameh ruled that the enforcement of a stay-at-home order between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on sanitation days violates citizens’ constitutional rights. In its decision, the court held that such restrictions are inconsistent with Section 41(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which guarantees freedom of movement. It further found the measures to be in breach of Articles 12 and 13 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Justice Erameh consequently issued a declaration that the prohibition of movement during the sanitation period is unlawful and unconstitutional. Benin Solidarity Movement Calls for Host Community Involvement in Oil Facility Protection The Benin Solidarity Movement (BSM) worldwide has urged the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Limited to establish a Special Task Force comprising mainly host community members to collaborate with security agencies. In a statement, BSM President Elder Comrade Curtis Eghosa Ugbo and General Secretary Ms. Esohe Adun argued that host community members, familiar with the environment, should be involved in protecting oil facilities.
