OUR REMARKS ON THE 10TH CORONATION ANNIVERSARY OF OBA EWUARE II, CFR, OBA OF BENIN.

OBA EWUARE II, OMO N' OBA N' EDO, UKU AKPOLOKPOLO, OBA OF BENIN - THE FEARLESS, CONQUERING AND PROGRESSIVE GOD-KING

Oba Ewuare II, Omo N' Oba N' Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba of Benin, is the 40th Oba of Benin, crowned on October 20th, 2016. Our God-King is a fearless and progressive first-class King who has championed cultural revival and preservation, administrative reforms, and social justice. Some of our God-King's notable achievements include:

CULTURAL RESTORATION: Our God-King has successfully negotiated the return of looted Benin Bronzes from institutions including the University of Aberdeen and Jesus College, Cambridge, the Netherlands, and others. Similarly, our God-King prevented the enemies of the Benin Kingdom, whose intention was to re-loot our returned stolen artifacts, from having access to them, and is championing the construction of the BENIN ROYAL MUSEUM where the returned artifacts will be kept permanently.

ADVOCACY AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING: Our God-King placed a spiritual curse on human traffickers and native doctors involved in the practice, an action that attracted global commendation and international funds to Edo State and Nigeria Government. Today, it is on record that the effort of our God-King has reduced human trafficking to the barest minimum.

YOUTH AND WOMEN EMPOWERMENT: Our God-King established the Oba Ewuare II Foundation, and through the AIGUOBASINMWIN MOVEMENT WORLD-WIDE initiated a 2-month Entrepreneurship Workshop which provides skills acquisition training and support for vulnerable individuals and offers free health programmes to Edo people on a yearly basis.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: Our God-King inaugurated the Oba Ewuare II Satellite Town project to boost decentralization, economic activity, and youth empowerment. Currently, plans are underway to commence this laudable project.

PEACEBUILDING: Our God-King, Omo N' Oba N' Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, has been playing a mediation and intervention role across several strata of life while promoting peaceful co-existence amongst Edo people and Nigerians.

Under our God-King's leadership, the Benin Kingdom has witnessed significant development and cultural preservation and revival.

To this end, the leadership and entire members of the AIGUOBASINMWIN MOVEMENT WORLD-WIDE happily rejoice and celebrate with our God-King, Omo N' Oba N' Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Ewuare II, Oba of Benin, on the occasion of his 10th Coronation Anniversary. The Edo State High Court has declared unlawful the restriction of human and vehicular movement during the state’s environmental sanitation exercise, in a landmark judgment delivered on Thursday. Justice Isoken Urhomwen Erameh ruled that the enforcement of a stay-at-home order between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on sanitation days violates citizens’ constitutional rights. In its decision, the court held that such restrictions are inconsistent with Section 41(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which guarantees freedom of movement. It further found the measures to be in breach of Articles 12 and 13 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Justice Erameh consequently issued a declaration that the prohibition of movement during the sanitation period is unlawful and unconstitutional. EDO STATE  CONSUMER PROTECTION   COMMITTEE (CPC) GRANTS TWO WEEKS GRACE PERIOD TO DISPOSE SACHETS GIN Today, the Management Committee of Edo State Consumer Protection Committee received in audience, the representatives of United Beverages Dealers Association and Edo State Sachet Alcohol Beverages Distributors Association. During the meeting, the representatives jointly requested an extension from 7th September to 30th December, 2026 to enable them sell off existing stock of sachet gin in their custody, citing various factors. After extensive deliberation and consultations, the Management Committee hereby rules as follows: 1.  That the Committee remains committed to protecting the rights of consumers and promoting product standards in line with NAFDAC directives. 2.  That the appeal for extension is PARTIALLY GRANTED. Suspected Cultists Attack  Odionwere, Elders, Okaighele In Obazuwa Community  Not less than twenty suspected cultists led by the former Okaighele, Odaro Peace Ibizugbe, of Obazuwa Community in the Ovia North-East local government area of Edo State,off the upper  Ekenwan road,  weekend  attacked the Odionwere, elders and the present Okaighele of the community. Odaro and his group of boys were said to have invaded the community with guns, battle axes and different weapons.
