The Edo State Government wishes to inform the general public that the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Iyamu Osaro Destiny as Chairman, Edo State Consumer Protection Committee.

Iyamu Osaro Destiny is an entrepreneur, empowerment advocate and accomplished community leader driven by a deep commitment to justice, accountability and equal rights. A prolific author, he has written and published books on good governance, reflecting his passion for ethical leadership and responsible public service.

He is widely recognized as an exceptional mobilizer of human and material resources, with a proven ability to galvanize individuals and communities towards achieving shared goals. He is the Founder and President of the Aiguobasinmwin Movement World-Wide and has held several leadership positions.

The appointment reflects His Excellency's commitment to strengthening institutions, protecting the interests of consumers and ensuring effective service delivery across the State.

The Edo State High Court has declared unlawful the restriction of human and vehicular movement during the state’s environmental sanitation exercise, in a landmark judgment delivered on Thursday. Justice Isoken Urhomwen Erameh ruled that the enforcement of a stay-at-home order between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on sanitation days violates citizens’ constitutional rights. In its decision, the court held that such restrictions are inconsistent with Section 41(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which guarantees freedom of movement. It further found the measures to be in breach of Articles 12 and 13 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Suspected Cultists Attack  Odionwere, Elders, Okaighele In Obazuwa Community  Not less than twenty suspected cultists led by the former Okaighele, Odaro Peace Ibizugbe, of Obazuwa Community in the Ovia North-East local government area of Edo State,off the upper  Ekenwan road,  weekend  attacked the Odionwere, elders and the present Okaighele of the community. Odaro and his group of boys were said to have invaded the community with guns, battle axes and different weapons. Okpebholo Threatens Death Warrant for Criminals, Rewards Police Over Vegetable Market Kidnap Arrest Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo has issued a blunt warning to criminals operating in the state: those who persist in crime will face prosecution, and he will personally sign their execution warrant. Okpebholo made the declaration on Thursday during a parade of suspects at the Edo State Police Command headquarters in Benin City, where he also rewarded officers who arrested a suspect linked to Sunday's kidnapping at the Vegetable Market.
