*2027: Ize-Iyamu Rallies Edo APC to Re-Nominate Tinubu, Hails President’s Leadership and Vision*
Benin City, Saturday 23rd May 2026
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, a chieftain in the All Progressives Congress and leading aspirant in the just concluded Edo South APC senatorial primaries, has called on all members and supporters of the party in Edo State and across Nigeria to mobilize decisively for the re-nomination of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the party’s standard-bearer for the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement released ahead of today’s APC presidential primary, Ize-Iyamu described the primary as a defining moment for the party and for Nigeria’s democratic journey. He urged party faithful to turn out in large numbers and affirm their support for the President’s second-term bid.
“Today, our great party holds its presidential primary across the nation,” Ize-Iyamu stated. “This is more than a routine exercise. It is a chance to reaffirm our belief in steady, experienced, and focused leadership at a time when Nigeria needs continuity to consolidate the gains we have made.”
The APC leader praised President Tinubu’s first term as one marked by bold economic reforms, infrastructure expansion, and a renewed push to restore investor confidence and national security. He said Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has laid the foundation for long-term growth and deserves to be carried forward without interruption.
“As a loyal party man and steadfast supporter of Mr. President, I urge every one of you to come out en masse to re-nominate His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the presidential candidate of our great party, the All Progressives Congress,” he said.
“President Tinubu has shown courage in taking tough decisions others avoided for decades. From fiscal reforms to strengthening state institutions, his leadership is positioning Nigeria for competitiveness and prosperity. We must stand with him to see this vision through to completion.”
Ize-Iyamu also emphasized the need for unity within the APC, calling on Edo APC leaders, youth, and women’s wings to mobilize at ward and LGA levels to ensure an overwhelming show of support for Tinubu. He noted that internal cohesion and loyalty to the party’s platform are critical to delivering victory in 2027.
“Let us continue to support the President as he advances his vision and developmental strides across the country. I also encourage you to mobilize fellow members and supporters to actively participate in this very important democratic process. A strong, united APC under President Tinubu is the surest path to stability and progress for all Nigerians.”
The statement concluded with Ize-Iyamu reaffirming his commitment to the APC and to working with party structures in Edo State to ensure Tinubu receives the full backing of the South-South region at the primary.
