Former Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Osaro Obazee, has officially declared his intention to contest the Oredo Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform.

Obazee made the announcement at the Oredo APC Secretariat, where party leaders from local government and ward levels were in attendance. Speaking to supporters, he emphasized his long-standing commitment to the party, asserting that his efforts merit the party’s ticket.

“The labourer deserves his wages. We have laboured in the vineyard of APC, and we deserve the rewards,” Obazee said. “We were in opposition for eight years, but with our collective efforts, we are now in power in the state. I will not distance myself from the people after joining hands to achieve the successes recorded in the party.”

The former council chairman highlighted his achievements during his tenure, noting that they remain a testament to his leadership and ability to serve the people effectively. He assured constituents that, if elected, he would remain accessible and committed to addressing their needs.

Obazee also urged his supporters to return to their wards to actively campaign for his candidacy, stressing that his motivation is not personal ambition but the welfare of the people. “I am not in politics out of desperation; I am here to ensure the needs of our people are met. Our mission is to liberate our people,” he added.

Expressing gratitude to Governor Monday Okpebhbolo for his developmental initiatives across Edo State, Obazee acknowledged that the governor’s achievements have inspired his decision to run. “It is because of his developmental works, visible everywhere, that some of us have the boldness to declare our intentions. If he had not delivered, we would not have had the courage to step forward,” he stated.

My osakwe aiyevbekpen described Mr osaro obazee as a very loyal party man who has been tested and trusted .He described his time as oredo council chairman as an era of development stating that if given this opportunity it will be good for the people of oredo local government area , also Mr osaretin Edosomwan said they believe in the ability of Mr osaro obazee to deliver for the people of oredo the dividend of democracy has he done it before and told the people to given him their support 

The declaration marks the beginning of what is expected to be a competitive race for the Oredo Federal Constituency, as political stakeholders position themselves ahead of the APC primaries.

Supreme Court Dismisses Petition Challenging Edo Governorship Election The Supreme Court has ruled that the petitioners seeking to nullify the Edo State governorship election failed to substantiate their claims. Delivering its verdict on Thursday, the apex court held that since the petitioners did not challenge results from all the polling units across the state, it was “absurd” to demand the nullification of the entire election and to be declared winners. The court further stated that the appellants failed to call witnesses or tender admissible evidence to prove irregularities in the disputed polling units. With this ruling, the Supreme Court has affirmed the outcome of the election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
