Re: Group Raise Concern Over Running Down of UBTH CMD Applicant.

The recent publication in a vanguard newspaper featured a brazen appeal by the emergency Benin Youth Council, an affiliate of Professor Darlington Obaseki, seemingly aimed at perpetuating his tenure through proxy by orchestrating a narrative that disparages applicants for the UBTH CMD position. If the emergency Benin Youth Council group were genuinely interested in Edo State's well-being and familiar with Professor Obaseki's track record as UBTH CMD, an emergency meeting would be unnecessary. Instead, his exposed flaws suggest he sought out a pliable group to do his bidding. The emergency Benin Youth Council actions appear motivated by opportunism rather than genuine concern. Therefore, we the AIGUOBASINMWIN MOVEMENT wishes to pose several questions to gauge their sincerity which are as follows:


1. Where was the emergency Benin Youth Council when Professor Darlington Obaseki undermined the Benin Palace and joined his Elder Brother, Godwin Obaseki to disrespect our highly revered Benin Palace?

2. Where were the emergency Benin Youth Council when Professor Darlington Obaseki converted UBTH to his personal enterprise?
3. Where were the emergency Benin Youth Council when Professor Darlington Obaseki neglected to employ and empower local talents/brains?
4. Where were the emergency Benin Youth Council when medical charges skyrocketed under the watch of Professor Darlington Obaseki? 
5. Where were the emergency Benin Youth Council when funds meant for UBTH were diverted and misappropriated under the watch of Professor Darlington Obaseki??
6. Additionally, does being an applicant under a predecessor guarantee for appointment a as successor? 

Thus, the emergency Benin Youth Council must provide evidence to support their claims.
Again, and to set the record straight, there are capable Benin sons and daughters who could excel in UBTH's leadership.

Therefore, we stand against unprofessional conduct and demand leadership that respects the Benin Kingdom.

Thus, the planned emergency meeting therefore, of emergency Benin Youth Council seems more like a publicity stunt to promote Professor Darlington Obaseki nominees. Without substantial proof, their candidates should not be considered. Leadership integrity is paramount.

Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the immediate reinstatement of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma staff who were unlawfully dismissed by the defunct Special Intervention Team (S.I.T.) in March 2023 during former Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration. In a statement issued by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., Secretary to the State Government, it was noted that the affected staff, who were members of the Academic Staff Union, were unjustly terminated following their demands for overdue salaries and benefits owed by the previous administration.
