DSS,Police And NSCDC Seal PDP Secretariat In Ondo

the Nigerian police force, Nigerian Security and Covil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and Department of Security Service were mobilised to the PDP secretary.
The youth wing of the PDP had initially planned to hold a walk on Monday to demand the whereabouts of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.

The All Progressives Congress in the state on Sunday  accused the PDP of planning to  instigate crisis in the state.

The PDP youths described the action of the security men as uncalled for.

The protesting youths said they would continue to protest until the needful is done.

The Edo State High Court has declared unlawful the restriction of human and vehicular movement during the state’s environmental sanitation exercise, in a landmark judgment delivered on Thursday. Justice Isoken Urhomwen Erameh ruled that the enforcement of a stay-at-home order between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on sanitation days violates citizens’ constitutional rights. In its decision, the court held that such restrictions are inconsistent with Section 41(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which guarantees freedom of movement. It further found the measures to be in breach of Articles 12 and 13 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Justice Erameh consequently issued a declaration that the prohibition of movement during the sanitation period is unlawful and unconstitutional. Supreme Court Dismisses Petition Challenging Edo Governorship Election The Supreme Court has ruled that the petitioners seeking to nullify the Edo State governorship election failed to substantiate their claims. Delivering its verdict on Thursday, the apex court held that since the petitioners did not challenge results from all the polling units across the state, it was “absurd” to demand the nullification of the entire election and to be declared winners. The court further stated that the appellants failed to call witnesses or tender admissible evidence to prove irregularities in the disputed polling units. With this ruling, the Supreme Court has affirmed the outcome of the election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
