_In Support of Palace Directive on Community Security_

Following the directive of our revered Monarch, *Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba of Benin*, all Okaigheles and prominent youth leaders are to inaugurate a minimum of 5-10 fearless, disciplined, law-abiding youths in their respective communities.

*Mandate of Inaugurated Youths:*  
1. Serve as community watch/vigilance teams for early warning on suspicious movements.  
2. Support farmers and traders with timely intelligence.  
3. Liaise directly with the *Okao Noreguae*, who will transmit reports to the Palace for onward delivery to Divisional Police, DSS, NSCDC & Edo Security Network. 
 
4. Report all security threats immediately to constituted authorities.

*Note*: This is a peace and community security support initiative. It does not authorize the use of arms, force, or jungle justice. We secure our land through unity, law, and partnership with security agencies.

The Edo State High Court has declared unlawful the restriction of human and vehicular movement during the state’s environmental sanitation exercise, in a landmark judgment delivered on Thursday. Justice Isoken Urhomwen Erameh ruled that the enforcement of a stay-at-home order between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on sanitation days violates citizens’ constitutional rights. In its decision, the court held that such restrictions are inconsistent with Section 41(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which guarantees freedom of movement. It further found the measures to be in breach of Articles 12 and 13 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Justice Erameh consequently issued a declaration that the prohibition of movement during the sanitation period is unlawful and unconstitutional. Supreme Court Dismisses Petition Challenging Edo Governorship Election The Supreme Court has ruled that the petitioners seeking to nullify the Edo State governorship election failed to substantiate their claims. Delivering its verdict on Thursday, the apex court held that since the petitioners did not challenge results from all the polling units across the state, it was “absurd” to demand the nullification of the entire election and to be declared winners. The court further stated that the appellants failed to call witnesses or tender admissible evidence to prove irregularities in the disputed polling units. With this ruling, the Supreme Court has affirmed the outcome of the election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Okpebholo Threatens Death Warrant for Criminals, Rewards Police Over Vegetable Market Kidnap Arrest Edo State Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo has issued a blunt warning to criminals operating in the state: those who persist in crime will face prosecution, and he will personally sign their execution warrant. Okpebholo made the declaration on Thursday during a parade of suspects at the Edo State Police Command headquarters in Benin City, where he also rewarded officers who arrested a suspect linked to Sunday's kidnapping at the Vegetable Market.
