Good governance is indeed a crucial precursor to economic development in Edo State, Nigeria. Here are some key points to consider:

1. *Transparency and Accountability*: Ensuring that Government actions and decisions are transparent, accountable, and free from corruption.
2. *Rule of Law*: Upholding the rule of law, protecting human rights, and promoting justice and equity.
3. *Effective Institutions*: Establishing strong, independent, and effective institutions that can deliver essential services and promote economic growth.
4. *Citizen Participation*: Encouraging citizen participation in decision-making processes, promoting inclusivity, and fostering a sense of ownership.His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo,the Executive Governor of Edo State has clearly put machinery  in place with various degrees of implementation.

There is no gainsaying that effective security plays a pivotal role in growth and advancement which clearly cannot happen in an environment of Chaos and a breakdown of law and order.

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has announced Barr. Musa U. Ikhilor as Secretary to State Government (SSG); Hon. Samson Osagie PhD as Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice; and Dr Cyril Adams Oshiomhole as Commissioner for Health. The nomination of Osagie and Oshiomhole will be confirmed by the Edo State House of Assembly when they are forwarded soon by Governor Okpebholo. Barr.
