The Leadership and Stakeholders of Benin United Forum heartily congratulate Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie on is well deserved appointment as the Vice-Chancellor of University of Benin. It is no doubt that Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie will bring his wealth of experience to surpass and consolidate on the legacies of his predecessors and our 2009 struggle that paved the way for the first Benin man who was late Professor Osayuki Oshodin that emerged as the Vice-Chancellor of University of Benin. To us, the emergence of Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie is not just another victory for BENIN NATION but a milestones for the entire Edo people and Nigerians.

To this end, we want to thank the outgoing management of University of Benin led by Professor Lilian Imuentiyan Salami, Senate and Governing Council of University of Benin for respecting the wishes of the sovereignty of Benin Kingdom and entire Benin people.

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered for the immediate and indefinite suspension of collection of all revenues in Edo, especially in motor parks and others, until further notice  Governor Okpebholo has also order ed the State Commissioner of Police to arrest anyone who flouts the order.  The Governor said he will review the issues surrounding the collections soon and decide on the way forward.  “The collection of revenues in the State has been suspended indefinitely. Anyone seen collecting revenues on behalf of the State Government will be arrested.  “The Commissioner of Police is hereby ordered to arrest anyone who flouts the order and collects any kind of revenues on behalf of the State Government.  “The Governor will soon  address the issues and concerns raised. Breaking: Governor. Okpevbolo Makes Fresh Appointment

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has announced Barr. Musa U. Ikhilor as Secretary to State Government (SSG); Hon. Samson Osagie PhD as Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice; and Dr Cyril Adams Oshiomhole as Commissioner for Health. The nomination of Osagie and Oshiomhole will be confirmed by the Edo State House of Assembly when they are forwarded soon by Governor Okpebholo. Barr. Ikhilor was born on the 6th of August 1980 at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, Edo State. Barr. Ikhilor attended Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he obtained an LL.B in 2008 (Second class Upper Division). In 2009, he obtained a B.L. (Second class Upper Division) at the Nigerian Law School and was enrolled as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In 2017, Barr.
