Breaking: Rumble In Edo House Of Assembly As Speaker Unilaterally Suspend 3 Members

The Speaker of Edo House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Blessing Agbebaku on Monday unilaterally  suspended three lawmakers over alleged plot to impeach him and other Principal officers council (POC)of the house.

The three suspended lawmakers are Mr Donald Okogbe( PDP Akoko-Edo11) Bright Iyamu(PDP Orihonmwon South) and Adeh Isibor, PDP, (Esan North East 1)

At resumption of plenary on Monday, Agbebaku alleged that the three suspended members were being influenced by external forces to cause chaos and remove the leadership of the house.

He also alleged that some persons brought native doctors into the house at midnight on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 to make some demonic incantations and dropped charms in the assembly complex.

Responding during the rowdy session, the three suspended lawmakers were seen screaming “Mr speaker you do not have the right to unilaterally suspend any member (s) of the house.

“You must call for votes. Allow members vote on the matter”, they  screamed.

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has announced Barr. Musa U. Ikhilor as Secretary to State Government (SSG); Hon. Samson Osagie PhD as Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice; and Dr Cyril Adams Oshiomhole as Commissioner for Health. The nomination of Osagie and Oshiomhole will be confirmed by the Edo State House of Assembly when they are forwarded soon by Governor Okpebholo. Barr. Ikhilor was born on the 6th of August 1980 at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, Edo State. Barr.
