YULETIDE: Edo RETEAN Boss Unveils Distribution Of Food Items To Drivers And Motorists

BENIN CITY- Commendations weekend, greeted the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, as the Edo State Chapter of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, RTEAN, distributed thousands of food items which comprised of bags of rice among others to commercial bus drivers and motorists as well as passengers across the Eighteen local government areas of the state.
Flagging off the distribution which was held in a carnivals-like ceremony at the Central Park, the state chairman, Comrade Monday Orhue and the deputy state chairman, administration, Comrade Augustine Edosomwan, said that the distribution was in line with the vision of this present administration to not only impact positively, but to make life more meaningful to drivers in this yuletide period to cushion the effect of economic hardship which the people have been subjected to.
They added that the beneficiaries are those who had adequately complied with the government's policy in revenue drive, especially those with valid driver's license and E-wallet cards.
They noted further that the distribution would be carried out simultaneously at other local government areas in the state, just as they congratulated those who got the benefits while urging them to always support Governor Godwin Obaseki to enable him finish strong in terms of development and welfare packages to the people.
On their part, Luke Esanbor and one Mr. John, who spoke at First East Circular Road bus park by Sapele road junction and Sokponba road junction by Third East Circular Road, said that they were surprised to get bags of rice, saying it is first of its kind since they have been driving for over twenty years.
They thanked the leadership of RTEAN for the initiatives, while assuring of their cooperation and commitment to enable them achieve their set objectives, just as they have prayed for successful ending of Governor Godwin Obaseki led government in the state come 2024.
The distribution was taken to New Benin Markets, Ramat park at Ikpoba Hill and other areas in Oredo, Ikpoba Okha and Egor Local Government Areas respectively as they were also being held in other local government areas in the state.
Also, a passenger at New Benin Market, who got the palliative, prayed for God's intervention upon Mr Governor and his family to enable him finish well with good health.
