Tribunal Sack PDP Lawmaker Declears APC Winner Of Ovia South West Constituency

The rank of People's Democratic Party (PDP) members in the Edo state House of Assembly dwindled Friday as the Edo State Election Petitions Tribunal, Benin nullified the election of Mr. Destiny Enabulele (Ovia South West Constituency).

In place of Enabulele, the tribunal declared Mr. Sunday Aghedo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the rightful winner of the election held on 15 March 2023.

Aghedo had challenged the declaration of the PDP lawmaker as the election winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

With the sack of Enabulele, the PDP may end up with 14 out of the 24 member House should the Appeal Court uphold the verdict of the tribunal as Enabulele is most likely going to challenge the verdict at the appellate court..

Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has announced Barr. Musa U. Ikhilor as Secretary to State Government (SSG); Hon. Samson Osagie PhD as Attorney General and Commissioner For Justice; and Dr Cyril Adams Oshiomhole as Commissioner for Health. The nomination of Osagie and Oshiomhole will be confirmed by the Edo State House of Assembly when they are forwarded soon by Governor Okpebholo. Barr. Ikhilor was born on the 6th of August 1980 at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, Edo State. Barr.
