Just In : Tinubu Extend N25, 000 Provisional Wage To All Levels Of Workers

President Bola Tinubu has extended the N25,000 wage increment to all levels of workers in the civil service.

According to NTA, this was disclosed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Gbajabiamila said the twenty-five thousand naira earlier announced by President Bola Tinubu for low-grade federal workers as intervention would now to cut across all levels of workers

Recall that Tinubu had announced earlier on Sunday a N25,000 wage award to low grade workers in the civil service, as part of measures to cushion the impact of the fuel subsidy removal policy.

The President made the pledge on Sunday during his nationwide broadcast to mark the Independence Day anniversary.

He noted that the salary increase will last for a period of six months.

The Edo State High Court has declared unlawful the restriction of human and vehicular movement during the state’s environmental sanitation exercise, in a landmark judgment delivered on Thursday. Justice Isoken Urhomwen Erameh ruled that the enforcement of a stay-at-home order between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on sanitation days violates citizens’ constitutional rights. In its decision, the court held that such restrictions are inconsistent with Section 41(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999, which guarantees freedom of movement. It further found the measures to be in breach of Articles 12 and 13 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights. Supreme Court Dismisses Petition Challenging Edo Governorship Election The Supreme Court has ruled that the petitioners seeking to nullify the Edo State governorship election failed to substantiate their claims. Delivering its verdict on Thursday, the apex court held that since the petitioners did not challenge results from all the polling units across the state, it was “absurd” to demand the nullification of the entire election and to be declared winners. The court further stated that the appellants failed to call witnesses or tender admissible evidence to prove irregularities in the disputed polling units. With this ruling, the Supreme Court has affirmed the outcome of the election as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
