Police Handcuff Man, Ask Him To Lie On Floor And Drove over Him In Ekpoma
The university town of Ekpoma in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State was on Thursday evening jolted as a team of policemen with their official vehicle (a dark blue Sienna bus without plate number) crushed a middle aged man.
In a video already trending online, the young man is seen handcuffed (apparently by the police operatives), asked to lie down before he was rammed on by the unnumbered police bus.
Though what led to the handcuffed in the video cannot be ascertained, people are seen shocked as they gathered to watch the driver moved, crushed and dragged the young man on the ground for more than 100meter, while ignoring shouts from the crowd.
The incident generated uproar from the crowd, but the angry crowd was quickly dispersed by gunshots from the policemen.
Reacting to the incident Spokesman of the Edo State Police Command, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the policemen who perpetrated the act have been arrested, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dankwara also called for a calm.
