By Labour Party National Working Committee, NWC
1: That Notwithstanding the fact that we have just received judgment of the Edo State High Court today, Friday 26th May, 2023 in which the court set aside the suspension of Julius Abure as a member of its ward pursuant to Article 10 (2)(I) of the Labour Party Constitution by the Ward Executive.
2: Abure's Criminality: FORGERY, PERJURY AND CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY with financial malfeasance to the sum of over four hundred million naira (N400,000,000.00) for which the Nigeria Police Investigation & Forensic Audit Report indicted him and three (3) is a matter pending determination for which they Remain Restrained their preliminary objection were vacated and FCT High Court retained jurisdiction pending determination in the Appeal Court
3: That the effect of this judgment would have just merely restore back Abure’s membership of the party since he is still restrained from parading himself as National officer of the party.
4: That unfortunately for Abure and three(3) others, the National Executive Council, NEC, which is the highest Organ of the party, in its meeting held in Bauchi on the 3rd of May, 2023, further suspended Abure and some others members of the party for attending an illegal NEC meeting purportedly called by Julius Abure while the restraining Order of the FCT High was still subsisting.
5: That the implication of the suspension of Abure by NEC in Bauchi makes today Benin High judgment a mere academic exercise as NEC which is the highest Organ of the party had already suspended Abure and his co-horts.
6: Simply put, by virtue of the restraining Order of the FCT HIGH court which is yet to be vacated or set aside, Abure still remains restrained.
7: Also, by virtue of the NEC suspension of Abure, pursuant to its power under Article 13(2)(b)(Iv) of the Labour Party Constitution in Bauchi, Abure remains suspended and *anyone who does business with Abure is on his own* !
Forewarned is forearmed!
You can see why Abure has nothing to celebrate !
God be our helper
